The Department of Science & Humanities serves as the foundation for all engineering disciplines. It encompasses Applied Sciences (Physics and Chemistry), Mathematics, and key life development subjects such as English, Communication Skills, and Development of Life Skills. Established in 2006, the department began with two well-equipped laboratories—one each for Physics and Chemistry.
Courses like Basic Physics and Basic Chemistry are common across all engineering streams and help students understand the scientific principles underlying natural phenomena. Applied Science, in turn, focuses on translating these fundamental concepts into practical applications.
Mathematics is integral to science and technology, forming the backbone of analytical and logical reasoning. It is included in the curriculum across three semesters—as Basic Mathematics, Engineering Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics—to support its practical application in engineering and technology.
To bridge the gap between different mediums of instruction, a course in English is offered in the first semester. Additionally, Communication Skills, introduced in the second semester, plays a vital role in shaping students’ professional personalities and enhancing their verbal and written communication.
The subject "Development of Life Skills" in the second semester is designed to enhance self-awareness, personality development, reading and listening abilities, and presentation skills. It also helps students acquire essential life skills such as time and stress management—critical in today’s competitive environment.
Our faculty members are highly committed and work diligently to achieve these educational goals, ensuring that students receive the best foundation for their academic and professional journeys.
