Electrical Engineering is a branch that deals with the study of electrical motors, transformers, switchgears, electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. It also encompasses various electrical circuits, their testing, and the maintenance of electrical equipment. The program aims to deepen students’ knowledge and skills on the basic concepts and theories that will equip them for professional roles involving system analysis, implementation, operation, production, and maintenance in the field of electrical engineering.

The Electrical Engineering Department was established in the academic year 2009–10. It plays a crucial role in advancing modern technology related to the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity.

The department is equipped with seven specialized laboratories: Electrical AC Machines Lab, Electrical DC Machines Lab, Measurement and Instrumentation Lab, Electrical Circuits and Networks Lab, Switchgear Lab, and Electronics Lab. Each laboratory is furnished with essential components and instruments for hands-on experiments. These include various types of motor-generator sets, transformers, load banks, switchgears, rectifiers, and measuring instruments. In short, it is one of the most vital departments for industrial applications.
